Dimmer Switches

A dimmer switch is a device that allows you to adjust the brightness of your lights. Unlike a traditional light switch, which is simply on or off, dimmer switches enable you to control the intensity of light in a room, varying it from soft, subtle illumination to full brightness. They work by regulating the voltage delivered to the light source, reducing or increasing its output as needed.

Dimmer switches come in various designs, each tailored to specific types of lighting and user preferences. Here are the most common types:

Rotary Dimmer Switches: These are the classic round knob dimmers that you turn to increase or decrease brightness. Simple and easy to use, they remain popular in many homes.

Touch Dimmer Switches: These modern dimmers allow you to tap or swipe to control the light. Many touch dimmers are programmable, offering preset lighting modes.

Smart Dimmer Switches: As part of the smart home ecosystem, these dimmers can be controlled through apps or voice commands. They offer advanced features such as remote control, light scheduling, and integration with platforms like Google Home, Amazon Alexa, or Apple HomeKit.

There are many causes, we generally find there are 2 reasons-

Incompatible light bulbs
Using the wrong type of bulb for your dimmer switch can cause buzzing. For example, using a non-dimmable LED bulb in a dimmer switch can cause noise.

Overloaded circuit
If too many appliances are connected to the same circuit as the dimmer switch, it can strain the system and cause buzzing.
